Privacy Policy

Geez Marble Games ("the App") is developed by Yemane Russom. This privacy policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.

Quick summary: the App is free, has no ads, no third-party tracking, and no user accounts. The only information that ever leaves your device is what you voluntarily type into the optional Feedback, Rating, or Email signup forms — and only when you tap Send.

1. Information You Voluntarily Provide

If you choose to use any of the optional in-app forms, the following information is sent to our submission system:

Email signup form (hub): the email address you enter and the language you have selected.
Feedback button (💬): the message you type, plus an optional name and optional email if you provide them.
Star rating prompt (shown after a level): the star value you tap and which game it relates to.
Technical context attached to every submission: the page path inside the App (for example, /crush/index.html) and the language code you have selected (for example, en, am, or ti). This helps us understand which game or page the feedback is about.

These three forms are entirely optional. If you never tap Send, nothing leaves your device.

2. How It Is Stored and Who Can See It

Submitted entries are sent through a Google Apps Script web endpoint owned by the developer and written as rows into a private Google Sheet. Only the developer (Yemane Russom) has access to this Sheet. The data is used to:

Read and respond to feedback or bug reports;
Understand which games and features are most useful;
Send occasional updates to people who have asked to be notified via the email signup.

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer this information to any third party.

3. Information Stored Only on Your Device

The following are saved locally on your device using your browser's localStorage and never transmitted:

Your selected display language and pronunciation voice;
Game scores, level progress, and a marker indicating whether you have already rated a particular game;
A cache of audio files for offline playback.

You can clear this anytime via your browser settings, or by uninstalling the App.

4. What We Do Not Collect

No user accounts, logins, or passwords;
No advertising identifiers, cookies for tracking, or device fingerprinting;
No location data, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access;
No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Facebook SDK, no advertising networks);
No automatic background telemetry — every piece of information that leaves the device is the result of you tapping a Send button.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is designed to be educational and suitable for children. We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from children. The optional forms (feedback, rating, email signup) require an explicit tap to submit. We strongly recommend that a parent or guardian be present when a child uses the email signup or feedback forms, and that an adult email address be used if any email is provided. If a parent or guardian believes their child has submitted personal information and would like it removed from our Google Sheet, please contact us at the email below and we will delete the relevant entries.

6. Third-Party Services Used by the App

The App relies on the following third-party services strictly for the purposes described:

Google Apps Script & Google Sheets — receives and stores form submissions described in section 1. Governed by Google's privacy policy.
QR code image API (api.qrserver.com) — used only to render the QR code shown when you tap the in-app Share button. The only data sent to this service is the public link to marbles.geezword.com (no personal data).
Vercel — hosts the web version of the App. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent) may be temporarily kept by the hosting provider as is normal for any website.

7. Your Rights

You can request that we delete any feedback, rating, or email entry you have submitted. Send a request to the contact email below, including the email address you used or a description of the feedback, and we will remove the matching rows from our Google Sheet.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted in the App where reasonable.
